When the Barnes Foundation moved to its new home designed by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, Lakeside Collaborative was brought on to consult with Charles Sparks + Co on refining the interior store layout as it related to product placement and visual merchandising. The challenge was to build a merchandising strategy, architectural layout, and product assortment that would integrate seamlessly with Dr. Barnes' holistic curatorial vision.

To capture the unique sensibility of the Barnes Foundation, we focused on "vignette" merchandising and an assortment of product inspired by the eclecticism of the collection.

In collaboration with Pentagram, Lakeside Collaborative helped to develop the Barnes Foundation's new retail identity across all retail touch points including packaging, branded product, and private label. We assisted in the selection and implementation of visual motifs from the collection, including the iconic mosaic floor and Dutch ironwork.
