The Center for Jewish History brings together the resources of five institutions that specialize in Jewish cultural research, analysis, preservation, and interpretation. When the Center embarked on a major renovation of its lobby and entry, they saw an opportunity to create a first-ever retail store to serve as both a revenue generator and a brand asset.
Lakeside Collaborative was engaged to create a retail program from the ground up, beginning with a Retail Strategy & Business Plan that defined the store’s purpose, merchandise mix, and operational model. We worked closely with Beyer Blinder Belle, the project architects, to ensure that the physical design of the store supported its mission-driven retail goals.
Lakeside’s work also included e-commerce strategy development in collaboration with L+L Studio, acting as Interim Retail Director during the launch phase, and recruiting key staff to ensure operational continuity. The result is a retail experience that extends the Center’s mission, connects visitors to its cultural resources, and establishes a new platform for earned revenue.
